New life was infused into this historic 1872 Victorian home with an addition that included a kitchen and breakfast room. With the freedom to position the kitchen anywhere, the primary focus was to capture the highest and brightest quantities of natural light. We replicated the window proportions; tall and narrow in Victorians, as well as the millwork found in the original home. And by adding architectural salvage pieces (the pantry doors and hanging cupboard), we were able to bring a period-correct patina to the room while keeping a priority on function. The latest, state-of-the-art appliances and storage systems are hidden away behind wood paneling and cupboard doors. With an entirely comfortable and inviting feel, this room has become the new center of the home.
